The post below was my first post on my old blog. I stopped writing in it as I had run out of time and willpower with everything going on in my life. So now I am working on bringing some old posts to this page and get this blog going here. I'm sure very few people will end up reading my posts, but for now it's more for me anyway! It's nice being able to look back and see how well Arctic Rose has grown over the years (and myself as well).

While I'm sitting here trying to settle on a beginning sentence for my blog, my son has been trying to help by smacking the keyboard around. It dawned on me that he makes a good point; anything is better than nothing. So here goes my feet first, nose plugged jump into the blog world.

I guess I should say first, since I haven't worked on the "About Me" area of this blog, that my name is Kirsten. No, not Kjerstin or Kristen, and to make it easy you can call me Kay. I'm 24 years old and live on Fairchild AFB in Washington. My husband and I have been married for six years and we have a beautiful son named Gabriel who's a little over one now.

For years I've had the "Arctic Rose" sign-on name for various accounts (Sorry hubs for making you run around on your games appearing as a girl) and it wasn't until recently that I finally put the name to good use. I own a business called Arctic Rose Boutique that sells just about everything I'm inspired to make. The business probably would never have been legitimate without the help and encouragement of my family and friends.

Hopefully with this blog I can welcome some new people into my life and also share with others my inspirations and views. So hello to you, whoever you might be, and welcome to my little corner of the world. :)

Back to Today

A lot has changed since then. I'm now back in Anchorage, Alaska and Gabe is almost two! Arctic Rose has transformed from part time to full time as I try to support my son and I. Within the next year, I hope to start college and juggle classes with being a mom and sewing. Becoming super-mom takes baby-steps.
